roadworks
Roads accrete and construct places and memories. They are marked by coming and going, by waypoints and junctures, by unfolding, through space and across in time. They demand and consume our attention, calibrate what is seen and sensed, revealed and hidden from view. Over and through them we move as their contours and rhythms become impressed and known in our own bodies.
Roadworks are an initial series of large clay monoprints. Each in the series is meant to respond to or recall something from the prior as in a palimpsest of accreting layers.
