Work > unfolding landscapes

Deaccessioning is an act of detaching, discarding and redefining one’s relationship with a personal record. I made Weeding and Winnowing: Deaccession Plan A as the first in a series of personal acts of discarding or deaccessioning my vast landscape slide collection. The work was made using rectangular Airequipt slide magazines reminiscent of my childhood. Each of the piece's 6 frames holds and hides my now discarded slides. Then, within each frame is a square panel that holds a small collection of just 20 selectively ‘saved’ landscapes with particular meaning to me.
